Change in JAK2 Exon 12 and MPL Testing Provision by AWMGS

From 20/04/2020 the All Wales Genomic Laboratory will be providing JAK2 exon 12 and MPL testing service using the Illumina Myeloid panel. These tests will no longer be sent to Bristol for testing.

Where it is clinically appropriate, you are able to request analysis of the remaining genes on the myeloid NGS panel by completing a ‘Next Generation Sequencing for patients with Myeloid Malignancies’ request form which can be found on our website .

Referrals for JAK2 Exon 14 and CALR will continue to be tested and reported separately as normal. There will be no changes to these tests. (However, the Myeloid NGS test may also additionally detect clinically actionable variants in JAK2 and CALR. You will be informed of these results).
