AWMGS helping out with the collection at the Wales V France Six Nations clash on Sunday, raising funds for the Maxwell Family Fund.

The money has now been counted and I’m delighted to say that the collection raised a fantastic £1900, which will go towards Craig’s fundraising target.

Sunday’s match signalled the end of Craig’s epic Coastal Path Challenge, which saw him walk and cycle 780miles in 26 days around the Wales Coastal Path, carrying the match ball for Sunday’s game, which was delivered safely by Craig and his family (pictured below). Craig was joined by over 600 supporters on each leg, all raising funds for the Maxwell Family Fund at Velindre.

Every step walked, every mile cycled, and every penny raised from this challenge will make a huge difference as it will help enhance, improve, and develop the cancer pathway in Wales, working towards a better future for cancer patients and their families.

Craig and his army of supporters and donors have already raised a monumental £884,000 for The Maxwell Family Fund here at Velindre. Seeing the total fundraising increase daily has truly been a huge boost for Craig and his family but the aim is to reach the target of £1 million.

From my fellow walkers and celebrities to the people who have come out to support us in towns and villages across Wales, the support has been overwhelming. These people have lifted me every day and kept me going.  Walking the match ball onto the pitch with my family, surrounded by former WRU and Six Nations colleagues and over 70,000 fans, was emotional and something that will stay with me any my family forever.
