AWMGS wins big at the 2021 Advancing Healthcare Awards
It is with huge pride and great honour that we are delighted to see our very own staff once again being formally recognised for their outstanding contributions to Healthcare Sciences at this year's Advancing Healthcare Cymru Awards 2021.
Following a competitive shortlisting process from other truly inspiring leaders in change management projects from across Wales, Megan Fealey, Genomics Implementation Officer, was formally announced the winner of the award for 'Leadership and Change Management' during the online virtual ceremony.
Helen Thomas, judge and Assistant Director of Leadership & Succession at Health Education and Improvement Wales said:
Upon hearing the fantastic news, Genomics Implementation Officer, Megan Fealey said:
"I am so honoured and delighted to accept this award, both personally and on behalf of all of my colleagues at AWMGS who have been involved in implementing these new national services. We are having a huge impact on patient care and this award is a credit to everyone's hard work. I'd like to acknowledge the AWMGS Senior Leadership Team for enabling a strategic change and inspiring us to continue on this path".
Lead Bioinformatician Joseph Halstead was also presented the award for 'Digital and Technology Innovation' by Brian Lall, Director for Internal Communications and Karen Gorman, Enterprise Sales Executive who said:

Joseph was delighted to accept the award and said:
"I am deeply honoured and grateful to have been chosen as the winner of the Digital Technology Innovation Award 2021. This award is testimony to the significance this now plays in healthcare. I'd like to thank everybody who helped introduce the WINGS test, specifically this project would not have been possible without the fantastic work of Sian, Jana and Meg. I'd also like to thank everybody in the incredibly bioinformatics team".
