The All Wales Medical Genomics Service, often abbreviated to AWMGS, is an NHS specialist regional health service.
Our aim is to help and support the patients of Wales who may have a genetic condition, who may be at risk of developing a genetic condition or who are maybe concerned about their family history.
Our primary base is in the capital City of Wales in Cardiff, however we also have specialist genetic support hubs located in the West and North of Wales.
The AWMGS laboratory provides a comprehensive genetic testing service for Welsh patients while also offering specialist genetic tests for clinicians worldwide. Since 2014, our laboratory and clinical services have been collocated, employing over 250 staff combined.
