Supply Disruption of BD Vacutainer Blood Specimen Collection Tubes

All Wales Genomics Laboratory is aware of the shortage of the BD blood collection tubes, which affects the EDTA blood tubes required for molecular testing.

Please note that we do not hold any stock of these tubes and are therefore unable to provide or send any to our referrers.

We would also like to remind our users that some other tubes , such as SST collection tubes (Serum Separating Tubes) are not suitable for molecular analysis and will not be accepted. DNA/ RNA extraction from tube types, other than EDTA, has high failure rate.
