AWMGS attends the Festival of Genomics 2021.
AWMGS recently had the pleasure of exhibiting at this year’s Festival of Genomics 2021, in doing so the opportunity to showcase our very latest achievements and flagship services including our Rapid Genome Sequencing Service for unwell infants and babies (WINGS), DPYD and RNA sequencing to name a few.

Like so many other entertainment events, ceremonies and exhibitions, this year’s Festival was entirely virtual, however this did not hamper the chance to meet many likeminded professionals and experts in the Genomics industry from across the Globe!
Throughout the duration of the showcase, there were a plethora of interactive features including live discussion, key presentations and other video and audio based content spanning multiple topics from genetic counselling and clinical services through to the very latest in advances in laboratory testing and diagnostic technology – there was even a presentation on behalf of NASA discussing the role of Genomics and space exploration.
How do you top that…with key presentations from our very own talented Bioinformaticians, Joseph Halstead, Laura McCluskey and Erik Waskiewicz of course!
We are immensely proud of the team for their contribution to these services and for taking the time to present at the festival. The positive feedback was overwhelming during the presentation and it was really nice to shine a light on our local partnerships and our progress against the Genomics Strategy for Wales.
If you would like to revisit the presentations, you can do so by clicking the video below and for more content why not head over to our YouTube Channel.

AWMGS would also like to give a special mention to our Principal Clinical Scientist, Helen Roberts who was one of the panellists on the ‘RNA Sequencing Mastermind’ session.
The lively debate offered further insight into this exciting area of work and it is one we are now pleased to offer the patients of Wales.
